Unloop was founded in 2015 with the mission of enabling people who have been in prison to succeed in careers in tech. We envision a world in which a conviction is not a barrier to a stable, happy life, and we are a group of techies, educators, professionals, and advocates who are committed to training, supporting and connecting people that are held back by a conviction to be successful in the rapidly growing world of technology. Our program consists of a one-year coding education programs delivered inside WA state prisons in partnership with community colleges, re-entry and professional navigation, and employment opportunities in the community with tech employer partners. We value accountability, transparency, and innovation, and believe that building a diverse, inclusive, and passionate community of individuals is the key to achieving our mission.
